May 20, 2004 - As of 7:54 pm it has not rained, first day since I started that it has not rained, now my clothes can dry out tonight. Today was another big day, 21.6 miles. I got a great view from Wesser Bald (elev 4627). There was an old watch tower used for looking for fires at the top of Wesser, so I got some good pictures. Then it was over 3000 foot drop over 7 miles into the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Wesser, NC. They had a store, so Paul and Dan picked up some supplies. Then we went to the bathroom to wash ourselves up in the sink. Then 2.5 miles later we made camp. Only 25 miles till we get to Fontana Village, then it’s a real bed and all you can eat buffet. Also I get to take a real shower and wash everything.
