June 9, 2016 - I finally took an actual zero day meaning I didn’t hike any miles on the day.
I slept as late as I could which was 7:30am. Then went down to the hangout porch and was there basically all day talking with lots of different hikers. I tried to take a nap mid day but it was too sunny where my tent was set up so I just went back to the porch.
I did meet a guy who had just moved to Grove, OK about 3 weeks before he started the trail so I talked with him for awhile. He is also a runner so I enjoyed chatting with him. He is from Big Bear so he taught Ryan Hall back in middle school so that was pretty cool.
Back and knee feel a lot better, been doing a lot of stretching and think I should be ready to head out in the morning.
I’m looking forward to the Sierras and for the fact I won’t have to worry about water.
