August 17, 2016 - Well I allowed myself to sleep in until 6:30am even though I wanted an early start.
I started off in the woods for a few miles going up and down until finally I made out into the open and the views were just amazing.
Most of the day I stayed out of the woods and out on the ridge with view after view.
My first water stop of the day ended up being longer than planned, the map wasn’t clear on where the water was so I ended up hiking 3 miles farther having run out but lucky for me it was cool with a nice breeze.
The last few miles of the day were in the start of Glacier Peak Wilderness which for the next 35 miles are suppose to be rough.
I ended stopping at Reflection Pond with great views all around, even saw a great sunset.
I figure the water would be gross from what I could tell from the guide book so I stopped a mile before and filled up 4 liters before heading to camp.
Who knows how far I’ll get tomorrow but planning to get up early.
